Whether you have been in the neighborhood just a few weeks or a few years, we at the office of Dr. Katz would like to introduce you to our practice.

One of the most difficult decisions you will have to make is finding a dentist for you and your family. Without the advice of a trusted friend who may know a local dentist, you will be faced with choosing a name at random from the phone book or following a sign on the side of a building. We are writing to help you make that decision in a manner more in keeping with your expectations of high quality dental care.

The cornerstone of our patient relationships has been and will continue to be “Trust”. The trust to treat each patient as an individual and to provide the full information necessary to make an informed decision based on Evidence Based Dental Principles.

Are you tired of waiting at the doctor’s office? We value the patients time. One of Dr.Katz’s obsessions is seeing the patients on time. We don’t run our office like an assembly line. Each procedure is booked for the time needed. In extreme cases, sometimes we do run a little over and in those cases we will try to contact you and give you the option of arriving later or rescheduling.

In our office, if a problem with your teeth is encountered , we will advise you of the problem, show you on an xray or intraoral picture, and discuss the different ways and options to fix the problem. We are very aware of our patients financial considerations and will try very hard to work with you to obtain the results you will be happy with.

The procedures and materials are vey important to the final result that you want to achieve. With this kept in mind, our protocols ,procedures and materials are based on providing you Evidenced-Based Dentistry. In 27 years of practice, we have seen many materials and procedures that did not stand the test of time. We try to practice a philosophy of ” getting it right the first time”. While this ideal cannot always be accomplished, We Stand Behind All our Work. We will redo a procedure due to a material lapse or a poor result.

To find out more about our office, do not hesitate to contact us at 732.422.0068 or to stop by the office. We look forward to working with you.

Please call to schedule your first appointment. You may download and fill out the Patient Registration form to limit your wait time during the first visit. Click here.

Patient Comfort

Heat, vibration and pressure are the primary causes of pain associated with the use of the traditional dental drill. Since cutting both hard and soft tissues (teeth and gums) with the Waterlase® does not generate heat, vibration or pressure, many dental procedures can be performed with fewer shots, less need for anesthesia, less use of the drill and fewer numb lips! Additionally, using the Waterlase® for gum procedures reduces bleeding, post-operative pain, swelling and the need for pain medication in many cases.

Accuracy & Precision

Waterlase® dentists are able to remove tooth enamel decay (the hardest substance in the body), bone and gum tissue precisely while leaving surrounding areas unaffected. This conserves and allows you to keep more of the healthy tooth structure.

Reduced Trauma

High speed drills can cause hairline cracks and fractures in the teeth that eventually lead to future dental problems. Waterlase® reduces damage to healthy portions of the tooth and minimizes trauma.

Improved Cavity Fillings

Waterlase® cavity preparations can increase bond strength of tooth-colored restoration resulting in longer lasting fillings.

Less Bleeding & Swelling

Due to its conservative, gentle cutting action and coagulating capabilities, the Waterlase® performs many soft tissue (gum) procedures with little or no bleeding and less post-op swelling.

Fewer Dental Visits

Since you often do not need shots or anesthesia, a Waterlase® dentist can perform cavity preps in all areas of the mouth in just one visit. This technology also gives trained Waterlase® dentists the ability to perform many procedures that were previously referred to specialists.

Versatility

The Waterlase® is extremely versatile. It can be used for a wide range of hard and soft tissue procedures. From decay removal, cavity preparation, root canals, smile design, gum and bone surgical procedures and many others.

It’s More Comfortable

Waterlase Dentistry uses laser energy and a gentle spray of water to perform a wide range of dental procedures – without the heat, vibration and pressure associated with the dental drill. With many procedures, it’s possible to use less anesthetic, and often no anesthetic at all.

It’s More Convenient

Your Waterlase Dentist can often get you in and out of the dentist chair faster, since it’s less likely that you’ll need an injection – research shows that the vast majority of patients don’t. It’s nice to avoid that shot, isn’t it? Not using anesthetic can allow your dentist to perform procedures that used to require more than one visit in a single appointment. Also, a Waterlase Dentist can perform procedures that once meant an additional trip to a specialist, saving you even more time.

It’s More Precise

Lasers have long been the standard of care in medicine for many surgical and cosmetic procedures such as LASIK, wrinkle and hair removal and many others. Waterlase® was approved for hard tissue procedures in 1998 and since has been cleared for numerous additional dental procedures. Thousands of dentists around the world have performed thousands of procedures with less need for shots, anesthesia, drills and post-op numb lips.

What is Waterlase Dentistry?
Waterlase Dentistry uses a patented combination of laser energy and water – a process called HydroPhotonics – to perform a wide range of dental procedures on teeth, gums and bone more comfortably. Waterlase Dentists typically use fewer shots and less anesthesia to provide a more comfortable dental experience. Waterlase Dentistry has many advantages over conventional dental instruments:

Your comfort
Heat, vibration and pressure are the primary causes of pain associated with the use of the traditional drill. Since the Waterlase laser cuts hard and soft tissue without heat, vibration or pressure, we may be able to perform your procedure with fewer shots and less anesthesia. Plus, using the Waterlase laser reduces bleeding, post-operative pain and swelling, and the need for pain medication in many cases.

Accuracy and Precision
We can remove decay in tooth enamel – the hardest substance in the human body – while leaving the surrounding tooth unaffected.

Reduced Trauma
High-speed drills can cause hairline fractures in teeth that can eventually lead to future dental problems. The gentle action of the Waterlase laser reduces damage to healthy portions of the tooth, minimizing trauma.

Improved Cavity Fillings
Waterlase cavity preparations increase bond strength of tooth-colored restorations for longer lasting fillings.

Fewer Dental Visits!
Since you may not need shots or anesthesia, we may be able to perform cavity preparation in several areas of your mouth, rather than having you come back for multiple visits. In addition, we may be able to perform procedures for which you might have previously required referral to a specialist.

Less Bleeding and Swelling
Due to its gentle cutting action and coagulating capabilities the Waterlase laser performs many procedures on gums and other soft tissues with little or no bleeding and less post-operative swelling.

Versatility
The Waterlase laser was first cleared by the Food & Drug Administration (FDA) to cut tooth structure in 1998, and has since received over 60 additional clearances for a wide range of procedures on teeth, gums and bone.

What Procedures can be performed with a Waterlase?
Tooth, bone and gum procedures, decay removal, root canals, cavity preparation, smile design, general dentistry for enamel and dentin and more!

Is Waterlase Dentistry safe?
Yes! We’re trained and in our hands, the Waterlase is a safe medical device. We are committed to providing you with the best possible care and dental experience.
